My friends have a running joke — they call me “Uku Venza.”
Why? Well, because according to them, I’m… endowed in certain areas (if you know you know), and they insist that such endowment is only befitting of a luxurious car like the Toyota Venza.
But since Venza is now an old model, they decided to upgrade me to “Uku G-Wagon.”
Here’s the funny part — I don’t own a G-Wagon. In fact, until recently, I’d never even been inside one.
That changed one day while I was on duty as the event doctor at a major program. My role was to attend to any emergency health issues among the VIPs and coordinate with the standby ambulance.
Everything went smoothly — until a pregnant VIP started feeling pain and nausea shortly after her energetic performance.
We stabilized her, and once she was calm enough, I recommended that she be taken to her hotel to rest. I packed up some emergency supplies and followed her to the car that was set to take her there.
All through the drive, my eyes were fixed on her. I was checking her pulse, asking how she felt, ensuring she wasn’t having contractions — completely focused.
When we arrived at the hotel, I stepped out, shut the door behind me… and then it hit me.
I had just come out of a G-Wagon.
A G-Wagon! The car that’s been the subject of all my friends’ teasing. The car I’ve joked about riding in one day. The car I’d imagined would make me feel all shades of fancy.
And yet, I’d been in it the whole time — without realizing it.
Why?
Because I was too distracted.
That moment stayed with me.
It made me think about how often we live inside God’s blessings, yet remain unaware of the luxury of grace we’re wrapped in — simply because life’s “emergencies” keep our attention elsewhere.
We’re so focused on what’s wrong, what’s urgent, what’s lacking — that we forget we’re already living in abundance. We forget that we are seated in heavenly places, surrounded by favor, and carried by mercy every single day.
Life will always present distractions.
But even in the storm, even in the emergency, even when you can’t feel it — you’re still riding in divine luxury.
Never forget where you are. Never forget Who’s with you.
You’re already in your G-Wagon.
You are in a GOD-Wagon.
